Automatic Open Stick Umbrella
One-piece shaft with a spring-driven auto-open mechanism, push button and latch in the handle. Adds an opening spring, latch and button to the classic stick frame, making it the most hardware-dense stick umbrella.
Structure
A stick auto umbrella keeps the classic one-piece shaft and 8 rib frame, and adds a spring-driven opening system: an opening spring seated in or around the shaft, a latch that holds the runner open, and a push button in the handle. Pressing the button releases the latch, the spring drives the runner up and the canopy deploys; closing is normally done by hand by pulling the runner down against the spring. Because the shaft does not telescope, the frame is stiffer than a folding frame and the ribs are single-piece, which is why standards test rib elasticity on stick umbrellas specifically.
