Umbrella plastic part
Sand Anchor
Overview
- Made by
- Qinxi in-house
- Materials
- PP / PE injection moulding, Glass-filled PA for the auger flight, Steel auger (supply-chain version)
- Finish options
- Bright colour as moulded, UV-stabilised grade, Textured grip collar
Selection tips
- Flight diameter and length set holding force, and sand type changes it a lot: test in the target market's beach, not in a lab.
- Glass-filled PA resists torque better than PP; plain PP shears in packed sand.
- UV stabiliser is not optional: without it the auger chalks and cracks in one summer.
- Against a steel spike: plastic is light and luggage-friendly but useless in gravel or hard ground.
Manufacturing process & quality control points
- 1
Qinxi owns the model and the injection tool. The flight pitch and the collar diameter are what decide whether an anchor actually holds in loose sand, so both are engineered in-house rather than copied from a catalogue.
Quality control points
- Flight pitch and collar diameter · Drawing review plus pull-out trial on the agreed sand grade · Each new tool or project
- 2
The mould is built and sampled in-house. A helical flight needs a shut-off that does not flash into the flight channel, so the tool is sampled for this specifically.
Quality control points
- Flight channel flash · First-shot review; no flash closing the flight · Each new tool
- 3
Anchors are moulded in-house from a UV-stabilised grade. UV stability is bought into the material here, because a beach part sees full sun every day of its life.
Quality control points
- Material grade and colour · Certificate check per lot; D65 colour check vs swatch · Per batch
- Fill of the flight · Visual: no short shot at the flight tip · Per lot, AQL 2.5 (ISO 2859-1 general level II)
- 4
Flash is trimmed and the collar is cleaned in-house so it can be gripped with a wet, sandy hand.
Quality control points
- Residual flash · Gloved touch check plus visual · Per lot, AQL 2.5 (ISO 2859-1 general level II)
- 5
Assembly and pull-out test
Supply chain / partnersThe anchor is fitted to the pole by the assembly line and pull-tested in sand. Steel auger versions are bought from the supply chain and tested the same way.
Quality control points
- Pull-out resistance in sand · Install per instructions, pull to the agreed load, no withdrawal · Per batch
- Fit to pole · Manual assembly and twist check · 100%
