Steel plate base with cast inserts, Concrete-filled resin base, Granite or marble block with steel plate
Finish options
Powder-coated steel, Textured resin, Polished stone

Selection tips

  • Base mass has to match the canopy footprint and the wind zone; calculate overturning rather than quoting a kilogram figure.
  • Stone bases look premium but ship heavy and crack; water or sand-filled plastic bases are cheap but seep and lose mass over time.
  • Weld the plate base then protect the inside: unpainted internal walls rust through from the inside out.
  • Against a spike or sand anchor: heavy bases suit commercial terraces, while grass and sand need a spike or auger, not more weight.

Manufacturing process & quality control points

  1. 1

    Plate cutting and forming

    Supply chain / partners

Steel plate is cut, formed and welded by the supply chain. A cantilever base works in overturning, not compression, so plate area and weld quality matter more than sheer weight.

    Quality control points

    • Plate dimensions and weld · Tape measure + visual weld check per drawing · First article + 1 pc per 2 h
  2. 2

    Filling or stone fitting

    Supply chain / partners

Resin bases are filled with concrete; stone bases are drilled and fitted with the steel plate. Filling weight is checked, because an underweight base overturns.

    Quality control points

    • Base mass · Weigh each base or a defined sample · Per batch
  3. 3

    Surface finishing

    Supply chain / partners

Coating is applied by the supply chain and checked for corrosion; the base sits on wet ground permanently.

    Quality control points

    • Coating thickness and corrosion · Thickness gauge; neutral salt spray (ISO 9227 / GB/T 10125) · Per batch
  4. 4

    Overturning check

    Supply chain / partners

The base is checked against the agreed overturning requirement with the arm fully extended. This is the safety-critical test on a cantilever parasol.

    Quality control points

    • Overturning resistance · Apply the agreed load or wind simulation with the arm extended, no overturn · Per order
