Reference table
| Common name | China GB | Japan JIS | USA ASTM | Europe EN | Density g/cm³ | Tensile MPa | Elongation % | Typical use |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Zamak 3 | ZnAl4 (3#) | ZDC2 | AG40A | ZP3 / ZnAl4 | 6.6 | 280–320 | 7–20 | General parts, best fluidity and plating: hardware, logo plates, cosmetic caps, electronics housings |
| Zamak 5 | ZnAl4Cu1 (5#) | ZDC1 | AG41A | ZP5 / ZnAl4Cu1 | 6.7 | 320–380 | 2–7 | Load-bearing parts about 20% stronger: buckles, hooks, zipper pullers, locks |
| Zamak 2 | ZnAl4Cu3 | — | AG43A | — | 6.8 | ≈350 | ≈3 | Wear parts and bushings; highest strength, lowest ductility |
| ZA-8 | — | — | ZA-8 | — | 6.3 | ≥370 | ≈6 | Higher strength and creep resistance |
| ADC12 | YL113 | ADC12 | A383 | EN AC-46100 | 2.74 | 235–310 | 1.5–3.5 | Best fluidity for thin, complex parts |
| ADC10 | YL112 | ADC10 | A380 | EN AC-46000 | 2.74 | 230–320 | 1.5–3.5 | General workhorse with the best strength-to-cost ratio |
| ADC3 | YL102 | ADC3 | A360 | EN AC-44300 | 2.63 | 220–310 | 2.0–3.5 | Good corrosion resistance and pressure tightness |
Notes
Strength values are typical ranges from public data, not guaranteed minimums. Zinc alloys melt at about 380–390 °C, so molds last longer and energy use is lower than aluminum. Zamak 3 has the best fluidity and platability; Zamak 5 is about 20% stronger.
