Zinc Alloy Collectible Stamp (Metal Souvenir Stamp)

A die-cast metal stamp made for collecting rather than for postage: the stamp image is built as relief, the perforation teeth are modelled into the outline, and the face is finished with plating plus enamel, printing or an epoxy-protected print. Pieces are usually sold mounted in a card, a sleeve or an acrylic case.

Applications

  • CollectiblesSingle stamps and series; collectors compare plating tone and relief sharpness across a set
  • Museum & gift shopsExhibition and collection-themed stamp replicas sold in museum shops
  • Tourist attractionsLandmark and city issues; the piece is small, so the silhouette carries the recognition
  • Gift & wine boxesMounted inside gift boxes and presentation folders as a keepsake

Selection tips

  • Design the perforation teeth for metal, not for paper: rounded tips and a wider tooth pitch cast reliably and do not cut fingers.
  • Keep the description factual - a metal stamp is a collectible replica, not valid postage, and should never be presented as usable mail or legal tender.
  • Sign off the plating tone per issue: on a series, collectors compare pieces side by side and a tone shift between runs is obvious.
  • Decide between enamel and protected print by artwork type - enamel suits flat colour areas and logos, printing suits photographic or gradient artwork.
  • Choose the mount before production: the case or card aperture sets the acceptable outline tolerance and protects the face in transit.

Manufacturing process & quality control points

  1. 1

    Artwork rebuild and perforation modelling

Qinxi in-houseZinc & Aluminum Alloy Die Casting

The stamp image is rebuilt as relief and the perforation teeth are modelled as part of the outline. Tooth width is the first casting constraint: teeth that are too thin do not fill, and sharp tooth tips break in handling.

    Quality control points

    • Tooth width and tip radius feasibility · 3D model review and prototype · Each new tool or project
    • Relief fidelity vs artwork · Three-dimensional inspection vs approved sample and drawing · Each new tool or project
  2. 2

    Mould making and die casting

Qinxi in-houseZinc & Aluminum Alloy Die Casting

Mould engraved, parts die cast and de-gated. Thin outline teeth fill last and are the usual place for cold-shut and missing tips.

    Quality control points

    • Missing or deformed teeth · Visual check under 600-1000 lx, 300 mm distance · First 5 pieces per cavity per shift
    • Dimensional check of outline · Caliper and go/no-go gauge · First article + every 2 hours
  3. 3

    De-gating, deburring and polishing

Qinxi in-houseZinc & Aluminum Alloy Die Casting

Faces are polished before plating. This is part of the die-casting process and is done in-house.

    Quality control points

    • Sharp edge / burr · Gloved touch check plus 10x loupe · Per lot, AQL 2.5 (ISO 2859-1 general level II)
  4. 4

    Plating

    Supply chain / partners

Plating to the chosen tone is outsourced to Qinxi's finishing partners. On a collectible the tone of the metal background is part of the artwork, so colour is signed off per issue rather than per batch.

    Quality control points

    • Plating tone vs approved sample · D65 light box, 300 mm · One set per plating colour per batch
    • Coating thickness · XRF coating thickness gauge (ISO 3497 / ASTM B568) · One sample set per batch

    Colour: enamel or protected print

    Supply chain / partners

Either the recesses are filled with enamel and baked, or the image is printed and covered with an epoxy dome. Registration - how accurately the colour lands inside the relief outline - is the defect buyers notice first.

    Quality control points

    • Colour registration and bleed · 10x loupe and light-box comparison · Per lot, AQL 2.5 (ISO 2859-1 general level II)
    • Dome clarity and dust inclusions · Visual check under 600-1000 lx, 300 mm distance · Per lot, AQL 2.5 (ISO 2859-1 general level II)

    Mounting and packing

    Supply chain / partners

Pieces are mounted into cards, sleeves or acrylic cases and packed. Mounting materials are bought in; assembly and inspection are handled by the supply chain.

    Quality control points

    • Fit in the mount and face protection · Trial mount on the production substrate with the production fastener · Per lot, AQL 2.5 (ISO 2859-1 general level II)
    • Set count and numbering · 100% count check · Per lot, AQL 2.5 (ISO 2859-1 general level II)
