Chain (Bag / Garment Chain)

A length of interlinked metal links used as a bag strap, a decorative drape or a charm holder. Links are stamped, drawn and soldered or weld-closed; Qinxi has no stamping, cold-heading or chain line, so the whole chain is sourced from the supply chain, cut and end-fitted to length.

Selection tips

  • For a strap, specify the break load not just the link size; a decorative chain and a load-bearing strap are different grades.
  • Weld-closed links hold load far better than snap-closed links; confirm closure method for strap use.
  • Ferrous chains trigger garment needle detectors; for 100% needle-detected markets use brass or non-magnetic stainless.
  • EU skin-contact items need nickel-free plating to meet REACH nickel-release limits.

    Link forming and closing

    Supply chain / partners

    Wire is drawn, cut and bent into links that are soldered or weld-closed. Qinxi has no stamping, cold-heading or chain line, so this is done by the supply chain to the agreed link size and break load.

    Cut to length, end fitting and plating

    Supply chain / partners

    Chain is cut to length and fitted with end rings or clips, then plated. Plating is outsourced to the supply chain; coating thickness and corrosion are verified against the agreed specification.

    Break-load and function check

    Supply chain / partners

    A length of chain is pulled to an agreed break load and the end fittings are cycled. Supplied and tested by the supply chain, with Qinxi spot-checking.
