Cap Rivet / Stud / Snap Rivet

A two-piece fastener - a domed cap and a post - that clinches through fabric or leather to join layers or attach a trim. Used on caps, denim and jackets. The cap and post are cold-headed, and Qinxi has no cold-heading or stamping line, so they are sourced from the supply chain.

Selection tips

  • Match the post length to the material build-up: too short and it will not clinch, too long and it mushrooms unevenly.
  • Use brass or stainless for skin-contact items; ferrous rivets trigger garment needle detectors.
  • The dome height is a visible trim detail - confirm the profile against the cap or garment design.
  • Nickel-free plating is needed for EU skin-contact items to meet REACH nickel-release limits.

    Cold heading of cap and post

    The domed cap and the post are cold-headed from wire and trimmed. Qinxi has no cold-heading or stamping line, so this is done by the supply chain to the agreed cap diameter and post length.

    Plating

    Supply chain / partners

    Rivets are plated to the target colour. Plating is outsourced to the supply chain; coating thickness and corrosion are verified against the agreed specification.

    • Coating thickness · XRF coating thickness gauge (ISO 3497 / ASTM B568) · One set per plating colour per batch
    • Corrosion resistance · Neutral salt spray, 5% NaCl, 35 C (ISO 9227 / GB/T 10125) · One sample set per batch

    Setting and clinch test

    Supply chain / partners

    Cap and post are set through the production material and the clinch is checked for security. Supplied and tested by the supply chain, with Qinxi spot-checking on the actual build-up.
