Belt Buckle (Needle / Plate / Automatic)
The fastening at the front of a belt. A needle (pin) buckle passes a pin through holes; a plate buckle is a shaped frame the strap threads under; an automatic buckle uses a ratchet and release. The shaped frame of the plate and automatic buckles is a zinc die-cast part made in-house, while plain needle buckle frames are stamped and come from the supply chain.

Selection tips
- Decide die-cast plate/automatic or stamped needle at the enquiry stage; a die-cast frame takes a logo and relief but needs a tool, a stamped needle buckle is cheaper for plain belts.
- Match the frame width to the strap: a frame that is too narrow binds, too wide and the strap buckles at the edges.
- Ferrous stamped versions trigger garment needle detectors; for 100% needle-detected markets specify brass or non-magnetic stainless.
- EU skin-contact items need nickel-free plating to meet REACH nickel-release limits.

Qinxi owns the 3D model and the die for the zinc die-cast plate and automatic buckle frames, so these are made in-house. A plain stamped needle buckle is also offered; Qinxi has no stamping or cold-heading line, so that version is sourced from the supply chain. The route is fixed at enquiry stage.

The plate or automatic buckle frame is die cast on Qinxi's own line, de-gated and tumbled. The prong boss and ratchet window are the load and wear points, so fill there is checked rather than only the outer face.

Stamping of the needle buckle (supply-chain version)
Supply chain / partnersPlain needle buckle frames are blanked and bent at the joint. Qinxi has no stamping or cold-heading line, so this version is supplied by the supply chain to the same strap width and plating specification.

Frames are de-gated, deburred and tumble-polished. This is part of the die-casting process and is done in-house, before the frames go out for plating.

Plating

Strap-fit and pull check
Supply chain / partnersFinished buckles are fitted to the production strap and pulled to an agreed load. For the die-cast version this is Qinxi's own incoming check; for the supply-chain version it is the supplier's test with Qinxi spot-checking.
